“Are not five sparrows sold for two copper coins? And not one of them is forgotten before God. But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Do not fear therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows” – Luke 12:6-7
Do you ever wonder how much your life actually matters; like, “does God really care about me? Among the billions of people on the planet, do I count with God? Do I ever really have His attention?” Jesus wants to convince you that you matter. “The hairs of your head are all numbered,” He said. Can you understand this picture that Jesus wants you to envision? It is the picture of a mother holding her newborn, filled with such love for her baby that she is counting the fingers and toes, over and over again. She is loving every detail of her child. God loves you like that, but in even greater detail. He counts the hairs on your head! Can you see yourself in His arms, loving you? You don’t have to DO anything; the baby doesn’t do anything, he or she simply is. That’s you. Let Him love you. Jesus said He’s the shepherd who leaves the 99 in search of the one. You, the one, matter to Him! He is the woman who lost the coin. The woman searched UNTIL she found that coin. Just so, Jesus searches until He finds you. He will not give up on You. He will not! You are valuable and significant. You don’t have to work to get His attention. You have it.
I believe what You say, Jesus, that I matter, and my life matters, and I perpetually have Your attention. Thank You for caring about my life. I choose to believe that my entire life interests You. Thank You for Your great love for me.
